When you search for meaning and find only emptiness
There are times when the mind clings to thought like a board in the middle of the ocean. Maybe you're feeling it right now.
You have believed for so long that what you think is you, that without those inner phrases – without that judgment, that comment, that demand for love or protection – you would fall apart, you would be left in nothingness.
It's hard to let go the idea of being a self with its own history, body, mission and dreams. Slope... and yet, inside, you are overcome with relief. The longing for home.
The mirage of the value of your ideas
Why is it so hard to let go of even the "good" thoughts? Perhaps because you have been taught that to think well of yourself is to heal, that being generous or honest makes you worthy of love, that defending certain ideas – that of progress, sacrifice, purpose – defines you.
But, look closely, under that friendly surface are the same bars: the belief of being someone separate, who has to earn his place in the world of thought.
I don't propose that you despise the good, only that you guess what is behind it. I tell you in a low voice, so as not to frighten you: Love does not fragment into "good" or "less good". Any thought that makes you special, even to make you feel better, is still just smoke. If you look at it tenderly, it begins to lose the power to hold you.
The exhaustion of being "somebody"
Have you ever felt tired of supporting your story? So many roles: mother, lover, worker, daughter, man, friend, enemy sometimes of yourself. Each one asks you for a different mental disguise, a justification, an obsession. And even if some role gives you pride – being strong, for example – there is always a hidden fear: losing that identity, having it taken away from you, being knocked down by a failure.
The Separated Mind Never Rests. The feeling of being "me" is sustained by difference: in comparison with others, with others, with your past self or an idealized self. Isn't that tiring? There comes a time, sometimes in the middle of the night, where there is no longer the strength to defend any of it. That's where the memory begins: you're not that thought, or that story, or even that desire to be special.
Nothing that changes can be real
Every time you catch yourself defending a thought, an emotion, a decision, ask yourself: will this be the same in ten years, in an hour, when I sleep or when my body dies? If the answer is no, it is not real. What is real knows no beginnings or ends. Love—call it what you will, God, Heaven, Being—simply is.
You don't have to struggle with thoughts. Just laugh a little at their claim to permanence. The idea of helping, for example: it can be your deep motivation today, tomorrow it will be another. What is left when all thought ceases? Try to find out.
Once, as I watched everything change—my beliefs, my fears, even my spiritual pride—I asked myself: Who is watching this? And that "who" did not know how to answer with words. Finally, silence.
The ego's favorite spiritual trick
The trap is thin: now that you know that negative judgment is illusory, you get drunk with "luminous" thoughts. "I'm here to love," "God guides me," "my body is a channel of light." But even that, if you dress it up with specificity ("my" body, "my" mission, "my" channel), it captures you just like judgment.
Spirit does not lead you to become better within the illusion, but to free you from the need for illusion.
Sometimes the mind will answer: "but if I let go of everything, what do I rely on, what is the meaning of life?" Sit with that vertigo. It's okay if you want to cry or don't know what to do. No one asked you for greatness, they asked you for dedication. It's about returning all the characters, even that of being spiritual, and looking without expectations.
The Holy Instant: To Observe Without Defending Or Fleeing
It is not about creating an "empty" mind. You don't have to repress or look for "special" thoughts. The real practice is to observe: when a thought arises that invites you to guilt, greatness, fear or enthusiasm... Look at it, name it, and let it go. "This thought about X doesn't mean anything." Don't judge it as bad or good. Don't try perfection, just sincerity.
If it hurts, tell the silence. If it makes you feel strong or useful, tell them too. In the end, they all fall into the same urn: that of dreams that do not need interpretation.
You can practice like this: one minute of observation only. Images, memories, phrases appear. Do they all have the same root? Are they all in the end attempts to hold you apart, someone in competition, someone striving? In this game, you neither lose nor win. You just stop feeding it.
Who are you, then?
Fear comes out, of course: if I don't think, if I don't defend anything, if I give up completely, will I go blank, meaningless, aimless?
The ego is frightened because it exists only in conflict, in movement, in the push to do and undo. But you, the Light that sustains all that is real, you already are. You don't form yourself from new thoughts. You are what remains when the noise dies down, even for an instant.
Maybe you can sit quietly, even for seconds. If nothing happens, nothing happens either. Silence is not empty, it is fullness. You will begin to notice that you are not missing anything and do nothing special. Unity is experienced like this: effortless, formless. It just happens; it cannot be explained.
The mirage of the world and real forgiveness
Everything you see, touch, experience... they are variations of a dream song. The world that seems so solid is sustained only in the mind that dreams it. There are no bodies, there are no real boundaries between you and others. The differences, the stories, the pains of the past, are like old films that begin to lose color.
To forgive here is not to do therapy or to look for good reasons. It is to renounce, for an instant, the whole perception: no thought of separation, neither the best nor the most tragic, is real.
Forgiveness is letting go of sleep completely, even if it's for a breath. That is where the memory of what you never abandoned, even though you forgot, begins: unity, Love, peace that cannot be told.
The scandal of not improving the self, but letting it go
This is what can scare you the most: that true transformation is not about improving your character, but about letting it go.
It's not about you being kinder, more productive, more spiritual, or even "happier" in the world's sense. It is a matter of returning to the original state, prior to all fear, to all desire to be different or more.
No one judges you for hesitating. The road is made of doubts, of feints of return, of old strategies that still seduce. But there will come a time when you just want to be at peace, no matter the argument of the mind. That instant – without history, without foundation, pure – is the door to memory: you are the Christ, and that Christ has no name, no country, no body. Only eternity.
Yes, fear, guilt and attack do not come from outside
Are there people who hurt you? Do you think the world can take away your joy? Look that thought in the face. Always, without exception, fear and guilt come from a wrong mental interpretation.
That a fact, a word, a gesture "outside" means something that destroys you or elevates you, is the great trick of the dream. True forgiveness is seeing that nothing external can touch you; Only your thoughts, and even those aren't real.
When someone hurts you, if you can (and sometimes you can't, and that's okay), let go of the story. Ask yourself this question: "What if all this is just another thought, worthless?" Peace returns. It is not a conquest, nor are there medals. It is the end of the movement, of the struggle to cover the void with explanations.
To stay still even though the mind screams
Someday, after an argument or an inexplicable success, you will get into the habit of examining every detail, of looking for meaning, of blaming or praising yourself, of fabricating more history. That is the moment. Be still, still, say softly, "This doesn't mean anything either." Not to get rid of it, but to stop carrying what was never yours.
If resistance arises, if the body is agitated, let yourself feel it. Don't fight them; just stop feeding them. The simpler you make it, the better. Little by little, you may notice an open space where nothing hurts anymore and nothing out of place shines. You don't have to do anything with it. Just rest here.
The reunion with the eternal: peace without a cause
No one can explain to you what it feels like to rest in unity. There are no words or external experience that will do. It is something so simple – to be, without seeking, without comparing, without justifying oneself – that it is almost dizzying.
But in that not-doing, not-thinking, non-defending, lies the truth. It's coming home, an echo of deep childhood, beyond everything you thought you wanted.
You may be afraid to stop controlling. There are days when it will seem impossible to you, that your mind screams or anxiety gives you no respite. Never mind. A single moment of authentic dedication is worth the same as a thousand years of effort. You don't need to get to the end, just go in and out of the silence, open your hand and drop the thoughts one after the other, like dry leaves.
The only real meaning: don't look outside for what you already are
The only important thing, if there is anything important, is that the mind stops looking for meaning outside. There is nothing in time, in space, in bodies, in achievements, in particular bonds, that can give you your Self. Stop looking to the future or the past, to the stories of others or to your own. Sit down, let go, allow the Love that you are to emerge without pushing.
It's not a feat, it's a comeback. You don't have to understand it, just let it happen. The Light does not need permission or help.
Remember freedom: Nothing you think or see can separate you from your origin
I tell you from my heart: nothing you now seem to think, feel, or experience can alter the perfect oneness of who you are. It doesn't matter how many stories your mind tells, how many reasons you accumulate to defend or fight the world of forms. From always, in the midst of noise and searches, your eternal being remains intact, without history, without shadow, without measure.
Every time you allow yourself to remain silent, without defending any thoughts, you will remember—you will not understand, you will only remember—what has always been there. Don't worry if the mind goes up walls again, if the ego makes up new excuses. Moments of pause, of honesty, are enough. Oneness is not learned, it is not conquered, it is not created. It is remembered. It is received.
This is the truth that saves us: there is only God. There is only Heaven. There is only one.
Take a deep breath and let go: the miracle comes when you let go of the need to search
